Service description
ShareAI does not operate or own any AI models itself. ShareAI is a marketplace that routes user requests through official API capacity voluntarily provided by contributors, in exchange for prepaid balance. ShareAI is not an account-sharing service — no personal AI accounts of third-party providers are shared.
Balance
Balance is held in USDC and only credited against actually verified deposits. There is no claim to payout in fiat currency; [operator: add refund terms, see the refunds page].
User obligations
The access code must be kept confidential; ShareAI cannot recover it. Using the service to generate unlawful content is prohibited.
Liability
[Operator: add liability terms in line with applicable law.]
Contributor program
Anyone who provides their own API key through the contributor program agrees to the following:
- You are solely responsible for ensuring that using your API key through ShareAI is compatible with the terms of service of your own provider account (e.g. OpenRouter). ShareAI does not verify this for you and accepts no liability for suspensions or damages arising from a violation of provider terms.
- You receive cost reimbursement plus an operator-configured share of the markup as compensation, paid out in USDC on Base to the wallet you specify. There is no entitlement to a specific payout amount or frequency.
- Payouts are technically irreversible blockchain transactions. An incorrectly specified wallet address can result in unrecoverable loss — the contributor bears this risk.
- ShareAI may deactivate a contributor key at any time without notice, for example after repeated failures or suspected abuse.
- [Operator: clarify the tax treatment of compensation for the relevant target market before launch.]
Local workers
If you connect a local inference node (the shareai-worker program running a model on your own machine), you additionally agree:
- Generation only — no actions on your machine. Your node is used purely to generate text from the model. It must never be wired to execute tools, commands, file/network operations, or any other action on your (the host's) machine. If a request uses the model "as an agent", any resulting tool/command execution happens exclusively on the side of the user who made the request — never on your machine. The official
shareai-workerperforms generation only and nothing else. - You must not read or retain the chats. Your machine receives the prompt content of the requests it serves only in order to run them locally. You must not store, log, inspect, share, or otherwise use this content beyond producing the single response, and you must comply with applicable data-protection law. (Note: because inference runs on your hardware, ShareAI cannot technically prevent a host from inspecting what their own machine processes — users who need confidentiality can route around local workers; see the privacy policy.)
- Compensation for local compute is a platform-set rate per processed token plus your margin share — not reimbursement of an external API cost. The rate may change over time.
- You are responsible for the cost, legality, and licensing of the models and hardware you run, and for the electricity and bandwidth they consume.
- The worker connects outbound to ShareAI; you must keep its token secret and may revoke it at any time.
- ShareAI may stop routing to, or deactivate, a worker at any time without notice.
